Dog Health: Neutering
In all cases, your dog should be seen by a vet before undergoing surgery to check that their general health is good and to answer any questions you may have.
Male dogs can be neutered from five months old.
Bitches can be neutered from five months old. This can be done earlier but your pet will need a full health check first or after the first season. The bitch must not be in season. For older bitches, midway between two seasons is ideal, that is three months after a season.
